Testing the Skills4Retail Training Programme in Latvia

As part of the ongoing development of the Skills4Retail training programme, partners across Europe are actively piloting and testing the newly developed modules to ensure they meet the real needs of learners and the retail sector.

In Latvia, Riga State Technical School has taken an important step in this process by carrying out the testing phase of several training modules developed within the project.

Bringing Training to Life

The pilot sessions provided an opportunity to move from theory to practice, engaging learners in content designed to reflect the realities of today’s retail environment. Participants explored key topics aligned with the Skills4Retail curriculum, gaining insights into modern retail operations, customer engagement, and the growing role of digital tools in the sector.

The sessions were delivered in an interactive format, encouraging participation, discussion, and practical application of knowledge. This hands-on approach ensured that learners could not only understand the material but also begin to apply it in real-world retail contexts.

Valuable Feedback for Future Development

A key objective of the pilot phase is to gather feedback from both learners and educators. At Riga State Technical School, participants shared their experiences of the modules, highlighting what worked well and where further improvements could be made.

This feedback is essential in refining the training materials, ensuring they are relevant, accessible, and aligned with industry needs. It also helps ensure that the programme supports learners at different stages of their retail careers, from new entrants to experienced professionals.

Strengthening Retail Skills Across Europe

The testing of modules in Latvia is part of a broader, collaborative effort across the Skills4Retail partnership. By piloting the training in different countries and contexts, the project is building a robust and adaptable learning programme that can support the future of retail across Europe.

As the project progresses, insights from these pilot activities will continue to shape and strengthen the final training offering, helping to equip learners with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving retail landscape.
