Vera Rodrigues

Vera Rodrigues is Head of People at MC Sonae. MC Sonae is a food retailer, leading the Portuguese market, with more than 40.000 employees.
Vera has a degree in Management from the School of Economics at the University of Porto and has also advanced training in HR Strategy from the London Business School, and in Leadership from IMD-Lausanne.
She is a lecturer in two postgraduate programs in “People Analytics” and in the Executive Master’s in Retail Management, focusing on Leadership and Team Management.
She joined the Human Resources Department at MC Sonae in 2016. Her professional career began in 2005 in the financial and management control area at an SME in the industrial sector. She later joined a multinational Human Resources Consulting / Executive Search firm.
After six years of experience in the private sector, she served as a Member of Portuguese Parliament, as Advisor to the Secretary of State for Tourism, and as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economy.
