Emerging Trainings: Preparing the Future Retail Workforce

Building on the success of the Reactive Training Programme, the Skills4Retail project is proud to announce the development of new Emerging Trainings, set to launch in September. These innovative VET Programme will be piloted across eight partner countries: Austria, Ireland, Romania, Hungary, Malta, Latvia, Czech Republic, and Portugal.

What is the Emerging Training Programme?

The Emerging Trainings are designed to equip the retail workforce with the skills needed for evolving industry roles by offering:

Modular courses tailored to specific learning pathways
Work-based learning components connecting theory with practical experience
A combination of technical, transversal, and personal development skills to foster well-rounded retail professionals

The programme is designed to support both new and current employees in enhancing their skills and confidence in the evolving retail landscape.

The training pathways will be flexible to meet the diverse needs of learners and delivered through physical, virtual, or hybrid formats, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

The new VET Training Programme focuses on three key audiences:

Pathway 2: Retail Managers

Targeting current and future retail leaders

Leadership in the Experience Economy

Pathway 3: Professionals – Experts responsible for workforce development and training

Through these pathways, Skills4Retail aims to prepare a minimum of 800 students and professionals for various roles within the retail ecosystem starting from the next academic year.
